De Koffie arabica, beter bekend als Koffieplant, is een elegante kamerplant Met zijn glanzend groene, ovale bladeren en compacte groeiwijze brengt deze plant, oorspronkelijk afkomstig uit de hooglanden van Ethiopië, een vleugje tropische sfeer in uw huis – en dat met een bijzonder verhaal.
Het dichte blad en de licht bossige groei maken de Coffea arabica tot een levendig, groen accent voor woonkamers, keukens of kantoren. Met een beetje geduld ontwikkelt de Coffea arabica na een paar jaar zelfs geurende witte bloemen en kleine rode koffiebessen – een echte blikvanger voor plantenliefhebbers.
Locatie en lichtomstandigheden
- • Geeft de voorkeur aan een lichte standplaats met indirect zonlicht
- • Vermijd direct zonlicht om bladverbranding te voorkomen.
- • Idealiter zouden de temperaturen constant tussen de 18 en 24 °C moeten liggen
- • Gedeeltelijk beschaduwde plekken zijn ook geschikt, mits er voldoende licht is.
Verzorging en watervereisten
- • Houd de grond constant licht vochtig, maar voorkom wateroverlast.
- • Geef eenmaal per week water – in de zomer indien nodig vaker
- • Gebruik zacht, kalkarm water (bijvoorbeeld regenwater of gefilterd water)
- • Geef tijdens de groeifase (lente tot herfst) regelmatig voeding met een milde vloeibare meststof.
- • Een hoge luchtvochtigheid zorgt voor glanzende, gezonde bladeren. Af en toe besproeien wordt aanbevolen.
